At CrossFit Typhoon joining the Bunker and becoming part of the Typhoon Family could not be easier. If you are new or just returning to fitness, or are just curious, come join us for a ‘Free Trial’ and we’ll also spend some time talking about your fitness goals.

STEP 1 – FREE TRIAL

If you’re coming from a traditional gym background, or from a sports perspective or other athletic activity, or are trying to get in shape after a long break, start here. Come into one of our Free Trials. Here you’ll hear about the theory behind CrossFit, why it works, the difference between our Bootcamp Classes and CrossFit WOD sessions, and get a workout in the process.

OPTION 1 – BOOTCAMP & CROSSFIT LITE

Jump straight into our Bootcamp & Crossfit Lite classes with our Off Peak Monthly membership package. This will improve your fitness levels quickly and ease you into CrossFit (if you so desire). Our daily Bootcamp sessions can help you achieve your personal fitness goals with fun, high intensity workouts aimed at getting you moving while burning some serious calories in the process.

OPTION 2a – FUNDAMENTALS COURSE

To get you safely started on your CrossFit journey this mandatory course (prior to attending regular WODs) offers personalised instruction and introduces the core movements of Crossfit. By minimizing distractions, lifting techniques and movement patterns are reinforced in a safe and controlled environment. This provides a seamless transition for you to progress into our group classes once you’ve completed the course.

OPTION 2b – EXPERIENCED CROSSFITTERS

If you’re a CrossFitter who has attended a CrossFit foundations or ‘On-Ramp’ course at a previous Box and you have at least one month’s CrossFit experience, you can jump into our WODs. Please contact us with a brief description of your CrossFit history.

‘ON RAMP’ FUNDAMENTALS COURSE

To get you safely started on your CrossFit journey this mandatory course (prior to attending regular CrossFit classes) offers personalised instruction and introduces the core movements of Crossfit. The course runs over two separate 2hrs sessions (on successive Sundays from 12-2pm). By minimizing distractions, lifting techniques and movement patterns are reinforced in a safe and controlled environment. This provides a seamless transition for you to progress into our group classes once you’ve completed the course. The majority of the course covers The Squat Series – air squat, front and back squats, and overhead, The Push Series – shoulder press, push press and push jerk, The Pulling Series – deadlift, sumo deadlift high pull and medicine ball clean, and auxilary gymnastic movements

FUNDAMENTALS (WEEK 1)

This first week covers the basic principles and techniques of the weightlifting movements involved within CrossFit. After completing this class you can participate with WOD classes whilst waiting for the Week 2 course.

The second week will revise the basic lifts and cover the more advanced weightlifting movements you will experience in our WODs. This will ensure that you are well versed with the required movement standards.
